- Chittoor V. Nagiah- Telugu and Tamil actor
- Ku Ra Seetharama Sastry - Famous Kannada Film Director, Lyricist, and Screen Playwright of the mid forties and sixties. Popularly known as Kurasi or Kurasee. He directed many Rajkumar films like Anna Thangi, Mana Mechida Madadi, and Rani Honnamma among others. He introduced and directed B. Saroja Devi to the film industry along with Shri Honnappa Bhagavatar in Mahakavi Kalidasa. Mahakavi Kalidasa won the President's silver medal for best direction, lyrics, and screen play writing. His composition of Kannada songs that are evergreen in the mind of Kannadigas are Ramana Avatara (Bhu Kailasa, Rajkumar), Dhooradinda Bandhantha Sundaranga Jaana (Samshaya Phala), Binkada Singari (Kanya Ratna) among others. Even to this day, no one has challenged his dialog writing style of Anna Thangi of Halli Kannada. His lyrical compositions were on par with some of the great Kannada poets (Kuvempu, Dara Bendre, et al.) in their style, philosophical meaning, and meter. He was the first Kannada film personality who went abroad to direct two films in the Malayan language in Singapore during the early 1950s. He won an international award for his direction for the film 'Iman' in Malaya (now Malaysia). He was also an actor during his early career in films such as Guna Saagari and Hema Reddi Mallamma (1940s). He entered the film industry as an actor through Gubbi Veranna Theatre.

- Vijayanaarasimha[1]- One of the best lyricists of Kannada Films.[2] Penned most of the songs of Puttanna Kanagal's films. His famous songs include ee dehadinda dooravaade yeke atmane (ohileshwara), bharata bhushira mandira sundari (upasane), panchama veda premada nada (gejje pooje), preethine aa dyavru tanda aasthi namma baalvege (doorada betta), viraha nooru nooru taraha (yedakallu guddadamele) etc.
- Kanagal Prabhakara Sastry- Famous Kannada films lyricist, script writer. Elder brother of Puttanna Kanagal
- V. K. Murthy - Bollywood cinematographer. Winner of Dada Saheb Phalke Award. He was the regular cameraman for Guru Dutt's movies
